The East region of Cameroon, known for its vast forests and rich cultural heritage, offers several beautiful places worth visiting. Bertoua, the capital of the East Region, is also blessed with a rainforest with 90% of the area left undisturbed.


Here are some national parks to visit in Bertoua

According to Discover Cameroon, Boumba-Bek National Park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, featuring diverse species such as elephants, gorillas, and various bird species. The dense forests provide an immersive experience of nature.

Lobéké National Park Famous for its biodiversity, this park is part of the Congo Basin and offers opportunities for eco-tourism. Visitors can explore its unique flora and fauna, including forest elephants and gorillas.

According to UNESCO World Heritage, Dja Faunal Reserve is one of the largest and best-protected rainforests in Africa. It is home to numerous species, including chimpanzees and other primates, making it a key destination for wildlife researchers and tourists.

Sangha Tri-National Park: Part of a transboundary conservation area with the Central African Republic and the Republic of Congo, this park offers a unique opportunity to experience a variety of landscapes and ecosystems. It is renowned for its efforts in protecting endangered species.
