Ghanaian chef arrested for forging Guinness Marathon records
Ebenezer Smith organized an event where he presented a forged certificate lying to attendees that it was delivered to him by Guinness World Records for allegedly completing a cooking records cook-a-thon for 802 hours, 25 minutes.
He also claimed that he started cooking on February 1, to March 6, 2024.
The man popularly called Millenium Chef Smith was arrested by Ghanian Police of La Police Station in Accra on Wednesday.

His sponsor arrested him and his manager, saying he did not stick to his agreement after coughing out a whopping 350,000 Ghana Cedis, about 13.8 million Francs. His lawyer said it was this disagreement that led to his arrest and not his fake certificate.
The Guinness World Record holder for the highest number of cooking hours is Alan Fisher of Ireland, who cooked for 119 hours 57 minutes.
