PCC Moderator to be redeployed after church elections
The 6th Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon(PCC), Rt. Rev. Dr. Fonki Samuel Forba will resume normal pastoral duties in the church after an election scheduled at the end of 2024.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Fonki Samuel gave the insight during a send forth ceremony and memoir launch, done to his honor at the PCC Synod Office Buea on May 25.
“I don’t know where my place is, but I can satisfactorily and honestly say, my time on this Hill is up, I must go down into the field to experience life there too and joyfully follow as I am led,” the PCC Moderator said.
After serving for two five year terms beginning in 2014, unlike his two predecessors and other moderators, his mandate doesn’t end in at his retirement.
“Unlike Moderator emeritus Nyansako-ni-Nku, the distinguished Rev. Dr Festus A. Asana who “Stepped aside in Hope”, I am stepping further inside, on the other side to be led in active and exemplery obedience and service,” he furthered.
Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel has served the PCC in the pastoral ministry for over three decades through various ranks to the most as Moderator. He said: “serving God as a pastor is the noblest of all responsibilities; I won’t want to miss it that is why I was called.”
The Man of God who had wrestled with internal conflicts in the church, social media alarms, Anglophone crisis and the Covid19 pandemic is remembered by many of his christians to have been a visionary leader.
He has called on all to abstain from trouble making in the forthcoming church elections and build a stronger and resilient church.
