Yaounde: Gendarmes arrest woman for the alleged murder of her fiance
A woman whose identity was not revealed was whisked from her home in Mballa 2, Yaounde – Centre region by gendarmes on Tuesday May 7, 2024 for interrogation on the suspected murder of a man called Ernest Metina alleged to be her fiance .
“It’s not known whether they are legally married or not. We don’t really know. But all I know is that they were in a relationship.” Vidila Tcheloh , an inhabitant in Mballa 2 said.
What shocked the entire quarter was the tragic death of the man. His was found standing dead at a small gate of the house the woman was renting, with a belt around his neck as if he hunged himself.
“Everyone is baffled . No one can explain whether he hanged himself or it is a staged hanging.” Stated an inhabitant.
It is alleged the arrested lady was cheating on Ernest Metina who must have been the one paying the house rent and bills.
“Maybe the man was the one paying the rent and bills. He paid a visit Monday night and discovered another man inside with the lady.” Reacted the 3rd class chief of Mballa 2, H.M Engelbert Calvin Bindzi.
“When he arrived we told him there was man inside. We tried discouraging him not to go in, insisting the quarter is very dangerous and he could be harmed. He said he was ready for anything and decided to go in and settle scores with the two, while we left only to get up the next day and get the shocking news of his demise.” Explained Vidila Tcheloh, inhabitant.
Another lady known be the deceased man’s concubine arrived the scene inconsolable. Ernest left the house in Odza, Monday evening telling her he was embarking on an outstation work.
