Appointment of new coach: Powerless Eto’o surrenders to Minsep
The Cameroon Football Federation which initially rejected the appointment of Marc Brys as head coach of the Indomitable Lions and some members of the technical team is seemingly considering having a change of heart as recent developments indicate.
Following a rumored meeting between the Fecafoot President, Minister of Sports, and Prime Minister, the Federation’s President has made new appointments modifying only one of the 12 nominations made by the Minister of Sports.
Among them is the appointment of PENSY Serge Reinold as the first Deputy Coordinator for the national team of which Mveng Herve had signed a contract as a ministerial appointee as deputy coordinator.
Additionally, ASHU NTUI NKONGHO Sarah was appointed as the second deputy coordinator of the national team, a position which didn’t exist in the minister’s appointments.
After the appointment of Marc Brys, the Fecafoot Executive Committee gave their President, Samuel Eto’o, a 72-hour window to appoint his own coach, but there has been no update on that to date.
It is unclear if the President has or will sign the contract of the new head coach, as there has been no official release regarding his signature. However, it appears the Federation is comfortable with the existing team.
