Yaounde: Woman burns 12-year-old child to death under unclear circumstances

A tragic incident on April 21, shook the community of Yaounde’s Nkozoa neighborhood, as a 12-year-old child fell victim to a horrific act of violence perpetrated by a woman.

The child, whose identity remains undisclosed, met her untimely death at the hands of the assailant, who allegedly beat and ultimately set fire to the young victim.

According to preliminary reports, the child ventured out of their home on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in search of firewood.

During the search, the child paused outside the residence of the accused woman, intending to collect two pieces of wood. However, the woman seized and mercilessly assaulted the child.

As night fell, the child remained bound and captive within the confines of the woman’s residence, enduring continued physical abuse.

Shockingly, hours later, the woman allegedly poured gasoline on the child before igniting a blaze that consumed the helpless victim.

Tragically, the child received no medical attention following the brutal assault and succumbed to their injuries on the morning of Sunday, April 21, 2024, while en route to the hospital.

The perpetrator reportedly fled the scene with her own children following the heinous act.

The gruesome incident has sparked outrage and condemnation from residents of Nkozoa and beyond, who demand swift justice for the innocent life lost.
