CEBEC resurrection saga: Mortuary attendant summoned at disciplinary committee

On February 5, 2024, the people of Bonaberie were shocked and bewildered to learn that an 18 year old boy, Kevin Pouopo who was at the mortuary had resurrected.

Mr Mbella, the Mortuary attendant at the Protestant hospital in Cebec, Bonabéri, Douala, had told reporters that he met the young man outside sitting on a chair, near the mortuary.

He was asked to explain his public statements made without the advice of management since the resurrection affair broke out. The committee has not made any decision public yet.

The family has continued to debunk claims that their deceased son resurrected.

They insisted that this was a set-up to distract public opinion from the real circumstances surrounding the death of the teenager, who drowned in the swimming pool of the Belavie hotel on 28 January, 2024 in Douala.

The hotel’s swimming pools are said to become a death trap to swimmers in recent times, CNA learned.

The corpse of Kevin is expected to be taken from the mortuary this Friday.
