Ndop: Separatists block B’da-Kumbo road, SDO seals shops

Ndop is again in the limelight with the usual tussle between the civil administrator and separatists. The Senior Divisional Officer of Ngoketundjia, Henderson Quetong Kongeh, seals shops on Tuesday, January 9, sealed several shops in his administrative unit, as punishment for not opening shops on Mondays ( Since January 9, 0217, Separatists in the Anglophone regions said they will observe Mondays as no work, no school and no activity day, as a civil disobedience strategy against the government of Cameroon)

The SDO said obeying the outlawed armed separatists is tantamount to punishment. Hence once the shops are not open on Mondays, his office will seal them.

The recent case pushed the Separatists to retaliate by blocking the road linking two major cities, Bamenda and Kumbo.

The situation has also led to the early closure of schools, shops, and other businesses. “Ndop today is the worst our children went to school and came back. All schools are closed till further notice.” a victim of this closure said.
