Douala: Eight-year-old boy escapes torture from biological father
An eight-year-old boy, Bryan Eric Junior has escaped their family home in Ndogbong – Douala 5 subdivision for torture on a daily basis by his biological father. Sources say he was beaten because he failed his term exams , the father had warned him not to, otherwise will “smell a dead rat”.
“My dad said if I fail my exams he will deal with me. Unfortunately I didn’t pass . Since the Christmas break life has not been easy for me. He beat me almost every day inflicting wounds allover my body.” Recounted Bryan.
Unable to endure the torture, Bryan preferred to escape to New Bell on Tuesday, where his aunt lives. Unfortunately, he missed way. He was found stranded at a place called ‘Denier porto’ by some curious inhabitants who asked him where he was coming from or going.
“I got missing while trying to locate my aunty’s house. I have been there sometime back with my mother. Bryan said.
New Bell locals condemn the maltreatment of the little boy by his own biological father, advising such parents to behave maturely and responsibly.
“It’s bad to maltreating a child till the point of traumatizing him.”
“It is a criminal and punishable offence. Instead of beating up a child in such a merciless manner, give him to people who are in need of one or take him to an orphanage. ” Inhabitants condemn.
Eight-year-old Bryan was taken to the 6th district police while investigation was opened to locate his parents or relatives.
