Cameroonian International referee Alioum Sidi retires
Cameroon’s most illustrious referee over the past decade, Alioum Siddi, has announced his retirement after close to 20 years in the profession.
He organized a press conference on Tuesday, December 19, at the FECAFOOT headquarters in Yaounde where he made the announcement.
“The decision was not easy, but I needed to take it” he said.
Alioum Sidi, 41, officiated at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and has participated in nine Africa Cup of Nations as match official. The FIFA International Referee drew wide attention after the 2019 AFCON final between Senegal and Algeria which he officiated.
The military officer and former Kohi Club of Maroua player has had a brilliant career which he says will continue in the form of imparting knowledge to young referees.
