Girona regain LaLiga lead after win over Barca
Girona lead the LaLiga with 41 points after 16 days of play, following an away 4-2 victory at Camp Nou.
FC Barca suffered their second defeat of the season in the match whose outcome was disheartening for the hosts that had 31 attempts with 11 on target, but scored just two.
Girona goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga pulled vital saves that secured the visiting side’s victory.
Artem Dovbyk and Miguel Gutierrez scored in the first half for Girona. Robert Lewandowski equalized the first goal, netting for the first time in nearly a month.
Valery Fernandez and Christian Stuani added two after the break as Ilkay Gundogan scored another for Barca, making it 4-2.
Barca are fourth on the table with 34 points, the same as third-placed Atletico Madrid who are behind Real Madrid who have 39 points.
