Bamenda University lecturers on strike over unpaid allowances
Lecturers of the University of Bamenda are currently on a 4-day strike over unpaid staff allowances by the institution.
In a release issued by the National Union of Teachers of Higher Education, SYNES-UBa, the union called on all the lecturers not to step their feet in lecture halls from Tuesday, November 21 to Friday 24 November 2023.
“Upon thorough evaluation, the union sadly notes that Deans and Directors have not paid staff allowances-internal research, complementary hours, supervision, juries, part-time hours and missions”
The order adds that the strike actions also involve no supervision of projects, examinations, and defenses.
