NW: fans demand proper football infrastructure
Fans of Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) and PWD of Bamenda have taken a stand, demanding a stadium admist the ongoing football season.
YOSA recently wrote a letter to Cameroon’s Prime Minister and Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, stating their intent to withdraw their support from Cameroon football due to the lack of a stadium in their region.
The club highlighted that it had gone undefeated in Bamenda for close to 10 years and always pulled in thousands of supporters during home matches who ensured the security of all actors.
PWD of Bamenda supporters on the other hand, have given an ultimatum to their President, Pascal Abunde stating that unless the home games of the team are moved to Bamenda, they will abandon the ongoing Elite One Championship.
The fans’ decision follows the shameful officiating that they believe their team was subjected to in their Day 8 encounter against Astres of Douala.
The team is playing its third season without any home support as matches were removed from Bamenda due to a lack of modern football infrastructure.
