GWR: Cameroonian woman edits for 87 hours to break world records
Blandine Angwe Fon set out on November 13, 2023, to beat the Mexican-held, Guinness World Record of 72 hours of video editing.
She told CNA that though she registered for 80 hours, she had to edit for 87 hours to make up “because of my breaks.”
Sitting in Bamenda, the capital city of the North West region, Blandine Angwe Fon, was surrounded by her family members, friends, and well-wishers who encouraged her with moral support clapping, dancing, and discussing to keep her strong.

Blandine works with the Ministry of Finance, in the taxation department, but she is also an Artist registered with the Ministry of Art and Culture. As an Artist, she is an editor, actress, and marketing communicator.
During her Edit-A-Thon, she edited a series of short films, “What motivated me is, because I wanted to use my talents to contribute to nation-building by selling our culture to the world,” she said.
She also added that her short videos contained real-life experiences that Cameroonians go through, “There is a societal aspect that is sending more and more people into depression nowadays that I addressed in the short movie.”
Blandine is now waiting on the GWR committee to decide the fate of her record-breaking attempt.
