Biya finally mourns with Egbekaw victims after 41st anniversary
The President of the Republic, Paul Biya has condemned the Egbekaw massacre that took away the lives of at least 25 persons and injured a dozen in the early hours of November 6, 2023.
In an official telegram to the Governor of the South West region on Tuesday November 7, 2023, President Paul Biya says he was shocked after learning of the high death toll.
He mentionned he has given instructions to his collaborators for the organization of urgent assistance to families of the victims and to those injured.
In announcing that investigations will be opened to track down perpetrators, the Head of State affirms that “any attempt to sow the seed of insecurity in our country, will always be doomed to failure, for the unity and stability of our nation are most valuable assets”.
It should be recalled that the massacre occured the same day he and his militants were celebrating 41 years of the new deal government.
