Olympic Games: Cameroon to face Nigeria in last round qualifiers
The Lionesses grabbed their ticket to the next round after defeating Uganda 3-0 at the Douala reunification stadium on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in the return leg of the qualification stage.
The girls of Jean Baptiste Bisseck came into the game with a 2-goal deficit but succeeded in overturning the score thanks to goals from Nchout Njoya Ajara in the 29th minute, Monique Ngock at the 47th minute and a killer strike from Falone Meffometou at the last minutes of extra time for a 3-2 aggregate score.
The Lionesses will face heavyweights Nigeria in February 2024. Nigeria on their part thrashed Ethiopia 4-0 in the return leg, making it an aggregate score of 5-1.
The tournament will determine the two nations that are going to represent the African continent at the Olympic games in Paris, France in 2024.
