44 Cameroonians awarded medals for combatting COVID-19 and successful AFCON

Some 44 Cameroonians have been awarded different medals by President Paul Biya in recognition of their contribution to helping Cameroon overcome the #COVID19 challenge and a successful staging of the African Cup of Nations.

This was during a ceremony that took place at the Unity Palace on October 6, 2023.

Out of the 44 medals, 40 were awarded in order of valour, and 4 in order of merit.

While chairing the ceremony, the Minister of State, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh stated that the awards are to appreciate the recipients for successfully organizing the Can Totalenergy 2021 and coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.

He further stated that the recent agreement between Cameroon and Magil company will enable Cameroon to create a genuine Olympic village which will make it possible for Cameroon to host more prestigious competitions.
