Manyu: Suspected separatists shot priest, teachers, kidnap others
A Priest of the Catholic Church, Fr Elvis Bangsi, and 3 Teachers of Kembong Catholic School were shot and injured on Tuesday morning In Kembong village, Manyu Division in the South West region.
Armed men who identified themselves as Separatists said they were enforcing no school in the area. They did not identify the armed group they represent.
CNA was told by a source that the victims were taken to the Bamenda Regional Hospital for treatment because the District hospital is in ruins, after destruction from the Separatists.
The act on Tuesday afternoon happened about 24 hours after gunmen who identified themselves as Separatists kidnapped 10 quarter heads in the same village on Monday, September 25, for allegedly advocating for school resumption.
The kidnappers allegedly demanded a ransom of FCFA 50 million, to secure their freedom.
