Fovu Club of Baham are winners of the 62nd Cameroon cup

The Yangoua of Baham on Sunday, September 24, 2023, in a grass field derby, outplayed PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda 2-0 at the final of the 2023 Cameroon cup at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé.

The final was played in an official ceremony, presided over by Prime Minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute on behalf of the Head of State that marked the end of the 2023 sports season in Cameroon.

Fovu in the highly disputed encounter, were crowned Cameroon Cup champions thanks to goals from Mbappe Muller in the 10th minute and Cyrille Ngando Eheck in the 62nd minute. This victory in this way offers Fovu a historic third Cameroon Cup trophy to the deception of many fans of PWD of Bamenda.

“I will not blame the boys, they tried their best but could not win. Now I wish they continue together so that we begin the new season well against Bamboutos on Wednesday” a fan told us.

The victory was also thanks to the experienced coach Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso who won the trophy for the fourth time.

The sum of FCFA 2 million was also handed over to the scorer of the first goal, Mbappe Muller as Man of the Match of the final.

The Abakwa Boys on their part in this way failed to grab a second trophy after their 2021 victory.
