Nigeria: Election tribunal to decide fate of Tinubu on Wednesday

Nigeria’s Presidential Election Tribunal, will this Wednesday deliver its judgment on the petitions filed by opposition Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar. Three things could happen.

Dismiss the cases and maintain Tinubu as President of Nigeria, confirm Opposition leader Peter Obi or Atiku as the next president, or call for a rerun.

Nigerians are waiting for the outcome of a long process that led to legal punches.

The opposition had filed for nullification of the decision by the electoral commission to declare President Tinubu as the winner of the February 2023 polls citing corruption, fraud, and the inability by the candidate to have 25% of the polls in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT in Abuja.
