Gabon: Republican Guards take over power

A group of senior military officials in Gabon have announced that they have taken over power from Ali Bongo.

The announcement comes three days after the country’s presidential elections.

“We have suspended results of the polls, Ali Bongo is no more the president…the results of the elections were falsified…borders closed,” a spokesman said.
