Cameroon, India seek to reinforce bilateral relations

The Governments of Cameroon and India are seeking ways to reinforce and strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

This was during the start of the Cameroon-India inter-governmental consultations on August 7, 2023, in Yaounde.

According to the Minister of External Relations, MINREX, Mbella Mbella, Cameroon and India, both share the principle of non-interference and respect of human rights. He says the two countries are members of the Common Wealth who have to work together through their respective ministries.

The Minister also urged Indian business persons to invest in Cameroon, especially in the sectors of Agriculture, Energy, and Extractive industries, among many others.

“I can assure you that my country, Cameroon, intents to instill fresh impetus to move our cooperations to a higher and strategic level,” Minister Mbella Mbella said.

The Indian Additional Secretary for Central and West Africa and Head of Delegation, Sevala Naik Mude noted that; “India regards Cameroon as an important partner for our enhanced engagement for the entire Africa. I would like to see both countries move forward with a global vision, peace, stability, and prosperity based on sustainability and inclusive development,”.

The session which was chaired by the Minister of External Relations, MINREX, Mbella Mbella, was fixed on Trade, security, and political issues.
