Shooting in Nacho, Bamenda, what CNA knows so far
On Sunday evening, a group of gunmen stormed the Nacho neighborhood in Bamenda, North West Cameroon, and fired indiscriminately killing more than half a dozen. CNA spoke with some witnesses and its correspondent in a developing story.

1-Ten people were shot in total and 9 were pronounced dead on the scene. One of the victims seemed to still be alive, and was taken to the hospital-the fate is still unknown.
2- Sunday night’s shooting comes just after the discovery of other corpses in a nearby neighborhood. CNA cannot confirm if the two incidents are related.
3- The shooters are said to have worn military and civilian fatigues, a CNA correspondent said. But some witnesses said the shooters identified themselves as Ambazonia fighters-both sides always trade accusations
4- No one has claimed responsibility for the shooting on Sunday night
5 – Among the dead are a newly-wedded couple-Simplice and Raissa
6-Shooting also comes three days after Government forces killed five young boys in the nearby Awingquarter.
7-Before firing, the shooters said the locality is breeding “blacklegs” who showed hideout to government forces leading to the shooting in Awing.
8-Human rights lawyer, Barrister Agbro Felix has condemned the shootings, describing it as a crime against humanity.
