Douala: SDF bigwigs accuse Fru Ndi & co of individualism
The G27 group of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) political party has accused the National Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi and the first National President Hon. Joshua Osih of what they termed “self-interest and individualism”.
This was during a press conference held in Douala on February 23 which was headed by some SDF Littoral party bigwigs notably Honorable Jean Michel Nintcheu.
“Rather than applying the recommendations that were widely applauded, the chairman went ahead and created an artificial majority elect with illegal appointments … to create a balance of power in his favor… for them to continue using the party for their private interests,” they stated.
According to them, this decision allowed them to meet at Mbouda to constitute an internal pressure group to push for the return of the fundamental principles of the party and the strict respect of the party’s constitution.
“We indicated to the national chairman our worries on the way the party was being managed and respectfully asked him to reconsider those illegal appointments which will draw the party into a serious crisis”.
The G27 group also noted that they will not participate in the illegitimate meeting planned by the Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi scheduled to take place in Yaounde this weekend.
They say their participation will mean that they have legitimized the anti-original SDF activities of the chairman and co.
They also announced that the legal actions taken against the activities of Ni John Fru Ndi and co. are still standing. According to them the group has continuously violated the party’s status, manifesto and constitution.
“It is our duty to remind the National chairman to respect our constitution,” they explained
The group says Ni John Fru Ndi and his supporters have been left in a minority, reason why the SDF is only running in one region for the March 12th senatorial election.
They also revealed that the SDF senatorial list for the Adamawa region was disqualified because of the party’s inability to pay a caution fee of F CFA 7 million.
This came as a surprise to them who say the chairman recently ordered the withdrawal of over F CFA 90 million from the SDF party’s account for a purpose unexplained.
