Suspected amba general Transporter killed in Konye
The people of Kumba this morning of February 01 2023 woke to the killing of an ambazonian suspected General called Transporter. He was reportedly captured at his hut and was killed by the military in Konye, Kumba after a gun battle. The general was killed alongside an unidentified young man who is suspected to be his loyal follower.
The bodies were deposited at Bicec junction in Kumba with the Senior Divisional Officer Ntu’uh Ndong Chamberlain present at the scene. The population is wondering and asking how many General Transporters they have to deal with as one was reportedly killed in Mbalangi, and another in Ekona a few months back and today authorities are claiming the real Transporter is dead.
The suspected Transporter was reportedly shot and killed late on the night of January 31 in Konye. Guns, pistols, drugs and the ambazonian flag were found at his hide out.
“We do not even know what to believe and what not to anymore. So far we have had like 4 General Transporters and this is the 5th being killed. I feel like we are just moving in circles because they killed another today, tomorrow another shows up. It’s surprising how these young men do not get tired of the whole thing,” a farmer in Kumba says.
“So it means this whole time we are preaching peace and peace yet our children still do not want to drop their guns. We are exhausted and want a lasting peace. We want our Kumba back as it used to be. Let the military be killing them everyday untill they are all dead since they do not want peace. We understand what they are fighting for but they deviated the struggle into their own selfish interests. Most of them received arms and protection from Cameroonians abroad. Now most of the leaders abroad have been arrested and they are frustrated. It’s time to talk about our issues but not through violence anymore,” a teacher in Kumba said.
“To me this struggle ended years ago when the fighters started harassing us the victims more than their targets. The real honest fighters were killed long ago. The ones we see now are thiefs, ex-convicts who patrol around as fighters to steal and rape our kids. There is no struggle anymore. Let us accept that and move on. We have gone through years of losing loved ones and businesses,” another inhabitant of the area said.
The Senior Divisional Officer of Meme has promise to ensure that peace and calm returns to the division.
