Edea – Kribi: road rehabilitation works completed
Inhabitants living along the Edea – Kribi road axis are happy with the completion of works on the highway.
A distance of about 112 kilometres along the stretch had been under rehabilitation for the past months. Potholes which were considered the main cause of several road accidents in the area have been filled.
“We have had so many accidents such that if they really thought to cover the potholes, it is better than nothing. We are encouraging the efforts,” a resident along the national road number 7 said.
“On this road, there had been so many potholes. Today that they are filled, the road is now very useable,” added another, who went on to complain about the narrow nature of the road.
“They have filled the potholes, what is left is to increase the road on the sides. We can’t really talk about finished works,” another said.
The busy nature of the highway and its bad state before rehabilitation, had made it a death trap. Now, users can travel between the Littoral and the South regions with less fear.
