Elite One: PWD, YOSA in red zone

Bamboutos FC of Mbouda plays another goalless draw, the fourth in a row, and PWD of Bamenda joins YOSA in the relegation zone.

Day 10 matches of the MTN Elite One championship were played on Wednesday, December 28 in stadia across the country. In the top match of the day, Group B leader Bamboutos FC of Mbouda played another deceitful goalless game with Gazelle. The game that was played at the Mbouda Arena Stadium was the team’s fourth consecutive draw. This series of draws comes after the team enjoyed one of the most perfect starts in Cameroon’s Elite One championship history with 5 consecutive victories. The team however remains unbeaten this season in 10 games in a row.

The PWD Social Club of Bamenda is sinking. The Abakwa boys again lost for the third time in their last four encounters. This 1-2 defeat to Coton Sports of Garoua has taken PWD to the relegation zone of Group A, as the team counts just 7 points in 9 matches, with just 2 victories, a draw, and 6 defeats.

YOSA who were on standby this match day is also in the red zone of group B, and last in the group with just 8 points in 9 matches.
