Kumba City Mayor to organize restoration festival, say gun not the solution
The City Mayor of Kumba, Gregory Mewanu said he is confident that the City of Kumba has come out of the quagmire and will be one of the most beautiful cities in the south west region. The remarks were made during a preparatory meeting ahead of the restoration festival.
“For so long now Kumba has gone through devastating incidences which we are not proud of. I have been promising the people a peaceful Kumba more than the way it had been before the crisis. I started by organizing football tournaments bringing together young persons and old and fixing the bad roads in town and I will not stop. This time, I am making sure the festive season will look different by lightening the entire Kumba and enduring total peace, “Mayor Gregory Mewanu told Councilors who gathered for the meeting.
The Mayor has promised to bring back all the interesting football games that used to make the town lively and beautiful, reminiscent of the Kumba Lakers, PWD among others.
“Like I always say, gun is not the solution, fighting is not either, and burning houses is not the solution. Let us come together and bring back our town to the way it use to be. Let 2023 be a special year in Kumba after long years of suffering,” the City mayor lamented.
“We will scare good investors away from helping our city grow if we continue with this fights. Kumba is a beautiful place and I am still pleading that we stop everything so others can return to their homes, visitors will stop being afraid to visit our town, businesses can bounce back and we all live happy” Mayor Gregory Ntenoyok Mewanu said.
