MTN Elite One

PWD Social Club of Bamenda on Sunday November 13 recorded their second victory of the season after they thrashed Aigle of Menoua 3-0 at the Bamendzi stadium in Bafoussam.

The convincing victory takes the Abakwa boys out of the relegation zone to the 8th spot on the classification table with 6 points.

YOSA on their part lost for the third time this season in 6 matches. They were defeated 0-1 by Fovu still at the Bamendzi stadium in their 6th outing. The Yellow Submarines now tally 5 points and are 9th in group B.

Bamboutos FC of Mbouda are enjoying one of the most perfect starts in Cameroon football in recent years as they again recorded a victory – their 5th in a row. The Mangwa Boys defeated Union 1-0 at the Douala Reunification stadium at the weekend. They now have 15 points on 15 are group B leaders.

The indomptable Lions of Cameroon on Sunday November 13 had their third training session in Abou Dhabi ahead of their final preparatory game against Panama on November 18th.

Five players are currently in camp and 21 others are awaited. Te absence of central defender Michael Ngadeu has been te talk of social media for the past days with many doubting the team’s performance in the basence of one of the players considered very important to secure a good performance at the world jamboree.

Rugby

The Rugby Lionesses of Cameroon have qualified for the final phase of the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup that will take place in the month of April 2023.

The girls thrashed Burkina Faso 52-00 last Saturday November 12 at the Olembe Annex stadium in Yaounde. They thus top in group D during tis qualifier phase after they also defeated Ivory Coast 8-0 in their opening game.

Boxing

Professional boxing middle weight intercontinental champion, Cameroon born Francis Tchoffo, will on December 23rd defend his title against Juan Manuel from Argentina at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex.

The champion who hails from Babadjou in the West region, won the title on December 3 2021 in Bordeaux, France after defeating Nikola Vlajkow by unanimous decision. The 34-year-old began his career in 2007 and holds a record of 20 wins, 19 losses and a draw.
