Bike rider dies on Wouri river
A commercial motorcycle rider has died in an accident which occured on the old bridge over the Wouri river this Wednesday morning.
The body of the rider, whose name CNA has not been able to obtain yet, has been taken to the Bonassama hospital mortuary in the Douala IV sub-division. At the time of impact, a passenger was on the motorcycle and is now in critical condition. Sources say he is under intense medical care, thanks to the quick intervention of the army rescue unit.
According to eye witness account, the bike rider was poorly overtaking a speeding taxi on the rails which are generally not friendly with motorcycle tyres.
Security elements who also answered present have now re-established circulation which had been perturbed for close to an hour as a result of the accident.
