Njiptapon: Abandoned grenade explodes, injures two children

An abandoned grenade found on the site of the Njiptapon attack has caused serious injury to two children.

The children say they found the grenade and were playing with it when it unfortunately exploded. One of the children had a leg completely mashed and the other sustained deep cuts on the legs and belly.

Authorities say the grenades had been left behind by ambazonian fighters who raided the Njiptapon special gendarmerie control post. People of the locality say they do not understand how authorities failed to search the area after the attack especially considering that the children could have been killed.
