Civil servant hospitalized after armed robbery
Jean Sylvain Mvondo a civil servant serving at the ministry of the economy, planning, and regional development (Minepat) is responding to treatment in a local hospital in Yaoundé.
The CPDM section president for Dja and Lobo 1 in the South region is under intensive medical care after armed bandits stormed his residence Tuesday night, tortured, and brutalized him.
According to reports, a gang of eight armed individuals paid him a surprise visit at midnight after tying up two security guards on duty. While in the house with Mvondo, they used an electric iron and a knife to torture him.
They did not ask for money or valuables, leaving investigators to suspect that the victim was targeted.
 The victim also confirmed that the attackers rather searched in drawers, and documents and ransacked the house for hours before leaving, but did not say what they came for.
