Five Die As Ndu DO Watch Gov’t Forces Burn Civilian Homes

The deaths started on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, when Ambazonia forces killed three herdsmen in Mbuwngong village, Ndu subdivision, North West region. Other herdsmen joined by Government forces stormed the area the same day and inflicted pain on the population with more than 10 homes burned down, two civilians killed, according to sources from the village.

The separatists claimed that the herdsmen they killed were informants for the government, however, the revenge has created a great toll on the local population who are just victims of circumstances.

“We could not even lay home to rest as the Mbororo came back beating everyone,” a villager told CNA.

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, the same militia and Government forces entered the same village and burned more houses.

The Divisional Officer for Ndu subdivision, Ibrahim Shuiabu Adamu, has been accused of not doing anything to order the Cameroon military to stop the killings. The DO who comes from the Mbororo community is said to be at the centre of many inter-religious tensions in the subdivision.

An elderly man, Adamu Nfor, and another woman were killed in their sleep.

Mbuwngong has been tense as villagers have fled for safety in neighboring villages of Veh and Mbibgo.
