Death of Pupil in Buea: My Wife was not the Driver – Enongene Nelson

The father of the little girl who was shot in Buea on October 14, 2021 by a Gendarme element has said that he doesn’t wish for any parent to go through the kind of shock he and his wife are going through since the death of their daughter, Endialle Carolaise Enongene.

He was speaking at a memorial service in the US where mourners gathered to pray for the soul of his daughter.

He established the fact that his wife was not the person at the steering on that day since she doesn’t know how to drive. “My wife has never developed interest to even drive a car. She doesn’t know how to ride even a bicycle,” he added.

The father of 4 also added that among his children, Carolaise was the closest to him and he doubts if he will ever forget her.

Recounting what happened that morning before the brutal murder of his daughter, Enongene Nelson said his wife told him her colleague at the office came to the house that morning to tell her something relating to work at the office.

When they were done talking, Carolaise’s mom pleaded with him to drop the children at school. So, he was driving the children and their mother to school that day.

“When they reached the checkpoint, the driver came down from the car and gave the car documents to the gendarme. A few minutes later, the driver came back with a gendarme element, asked the baby’s mom to sit behind with the kids so the gendarme man can sit in front. The plan was to drop the kids at school and then the gendarme takes the car to their station since they wanted to impound it.” He told mourners.

The gendarme refused to enter the car. The driver too said he had his complete car documents. The gendarme instead asked the woman to come down from the car and walk with the kids to school.

That was when the driver got angry and took off.

“My wife said what she heard was boom! Her baby’s head exploded on the other kids.” His wife and everyone around was confused and the kids were running in different directions.

The gendarme was killed by mob justice.
