The steady growth of the Kumba City Council in the last four years, beginning in 2020, came under review during the 2024 Administrative, Management and Stores Management Accounts for 2024, held in Kumba on April 22. It was examined that the municipality had retained an impressive realization rate.
Kumba City Council accounts experienced a significant increase rising from 923,068,385 francs CFA in 2020 to 2,837,524,501 francs CFA in 2024. For this milestone stone, councillors greeted the oversight of the City Mayor, Ntemoyok Mewanu Gregory.
“This increase can be attributed to the growing realization of our lobbying efforts and conscientious management of our resources. The City council is gradually reaping the fruits of her labor and we remain positive that in subsequent sessions, the administrative accounts will hit three billion and above,” Mayor Mewanu said.
He went on to announce the imminent visit of a delegation from the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund (CSPH) to Kumba, for the laying of the foundation stone of a gas plant. Mayor Mewanu was optimistic about its outcome on the lives of the denizens of the town.
