2023 African Games:President Biya commends Emmanuel Eseme’s stellar performance

The President of the Republic of Cameroon extended his congratulations and encouragement to some exceptional athletes of the Cameroon National Olympic Team, including Emmanuel Eseme Alobwede, who excelled in the recently concluded 13th edition of the African Games in Accra, Ghana.
“I ask you to kindly convey to the athletes and their supervisors my congratulations and my encouragement, in order to improve their performances,” stated the President Paul Biya in a communique.
He continued, “I would like to send a special mention to the sprinter Emmanuel Eseme Alobwede, Gold medalist in the 100 meters, as well as to the Junior weightlifter Ngadja Nyabeyeu, double Gold medalist in his discipline. These two competitors have particularly contributed to the respectable rank of Our dear and beautiful country.”
During the games, the Cameroonian athletes secured a remarkable total of thirty medals.
In addition to Alobwede’s triumph, Nyabeyeu’s remarkable achievement of securing double gold medals in weightlifting further underscored the depth of talent within Cameroon’s sporting community.
The President expressed his profound pride and gratitude towards all the athletes and their supervisors for their dedication and hard work, which contributed significantly to Cameroon’s impressive showing at the games. He urged them to continue striving for excellence and to remain steadfast in their pursuit of sporting glory.
The President has called upon all citizens to rally behind their athletes and support them in their future endeavors, as they continue to bring honor and glory to Cameroon on the global stage.
