Bamenda: Mile 4 inhabitants say continuous power outage killing businesses

Business persons and inhabitants of Mile 4 Nkwen, Bamenda III subdivision have said they have been victims of continues power failure for a long time.

According to them, most electricity transformers in the neighborhoods are outdated but the company in charge remains unbothered.

“Most of us at the junction who own business places always pay our bills right at the ENEO office but they have refused to change this transformer at the junction. This particular transformer has been disturbing for more than 2 years now,” a bar owner who preferred not to be named said.

Another business operator said some of them have turned to generators in order to stay in business but complain their monthly electricity bills remain the same despite lack of electricity provided by ENEO.

“Since Thursday we don’t have lights around the junction, but no one is saying anything. We don’t just understand the work of Eneo,” another inhabitant lamented.

CNA gathered that inhabitants of the neighborhood have now resorted to fund raising to enable them purchase a new transformer to guarantee steady supply.
