West Region: Rerun Elections Shall Be Free, Fair- ELECAM Official

The head of the West regional bureau of Elections Cameroon, ELECAM, Abdoulahi Boboe, has reassured the public a free, fair and transparent partial regional elections rerun in the Menoua division.

He made the announcement on Monday, March 29, ahead of the April 4, 2021 polls to elect the three remaining seats of traditional rulers in the West regional council.

He also confirmed the reception and the readiness of electoral equipment including ballot boxes, voting booth and other electoral documents.
Reacting on COVID-19, face masks and hand sanitizers have been made available for the 156 traditional rulers and officials to take part in this electoral process.

A regional supervising commission has also been put in place by a resolution of the electoral board of ELECAM. The commission will simply have results from polling stations centralised and later proclaim them.
In the same light, the head of the Menoua divisional branch of ELECAM, since the 19th March 2021 according to the electoral code forwarded campaign papers to various candidates.
Two lists are in competition, one headed by HM Gabriel Tsidie and the other by HM Albert Gnintemzem.
