What an exceptional and momentous occasion! The ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ held on Saturday the 11 January, captivated the attention of Cameroon and the media, celebrating the transformative vision of YIBS: to develop innovative and competent professionals with a ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ๐๐ญ.
This year’s graduating batch embodies this vision, stepping up as Emerging #Entrepreneurs and #Innovators, ready to meet society’s demands. In the presence of distinguished guestsโSenators, Ministry Representatives, Entrepreneurs, Ambassadors, Parents, Friends, and Loved Onesโstudents proudly turned their tassels to the left, officially becoming ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ง๐ข, and graduates of their respective programs (HND, BTech, and Masterโs degrees).
The ceremony was enriched by empowering speeches from ๐๐๐ฏ. ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐ง๐ฒ๐๐ฆ๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ง๐ฒ๐, the Vice-Chancellor, and ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ก๐จ ๐๐๐ค๐ฎ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ซ๐๐, the President of Trustees, alongside ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ค ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ข๐ง๐, representing the Minister of Higher Education, ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐ก๐๐จ ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ, Director of Academic Affairs at the University of Bamenda, and the visionary international guest speaker Prof. ๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ, among many others. It also featured the recognition of lecturers and the outstanding business plans developed by students throughout the 2023-2024 academic year.

As shared by the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Prof. Anyambod Emmanuel Anya, quoting Barack Obama:
“Don’t just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table.”
This powerful statement served as a call to action, encouraging graduates to actively pursue leadership roles, take initiative, and make meaningful contributions in their respective fields.
The President of Trustees, Mr. Acho Godfred Taku, also reminded the graduates with these inspiring words:
“Entrepreneurship is not limited to starting your own business. It is a mindsetโone that embraces resilience, problem-solving, and resourcefulness. Innovation is not confined to technology; itโs about finding new ways to add value, create opportunities, and inspire change.”
He further encouraged the graduates by saying:
“Dear graduates, youโve been equipped with the knowledge to impact the world. Donโt let it lie dormant. ๐๐๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐!”
