South American champion Chile beat their African counterparts 2-0 Sunday in the opening group B game in the ongoing Confederation cup in Russia.

After two goals had been denied both teams in the first half, the first which was scored by Cameroon but the referee signaled a foul and the goal by Chile which was ruled out for offside thanks to video review, whereas referee Damir Skomina had awarded the goal and Chile’s players started celebrating, but the decision was then sent for video review and of course ruled out.

But the second half of the match was quiet enriching for Cameroon which showed its prowess but whose players lacked personal audacity to fine the back of the net.

Arturo Vidal drew the first blood at the 81st-minute with a header after a pass from substitute Alexis Sanchez, their second goal was later decided by Video as Vargas found the back of the net for the Chileans.
