Cameroon-Judiciary: Paul Biya Summons National Judicial Council

The President of the Republic of Cameroon, Paul Biya has summoned the holding of the National Judicial Council,the highest Judicial decision making body in Cameroon.

The decision to summon the Council was made public Friday May 12,2017 coming over two years since the last one was held in December 2014.

Decree Summoning The National Higher Judicial Council

The summon comes on the wake of crisis rocking the two English speaking regions and the arrest of Advocate General at the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Ayah Paul Abine.

The Higher Judicial Council will examine reports,appoint,transfer and sanction Magistrates  among others.

The meeting is expected to take place at the Presidency on Wednesday June 7,2017.
